With an in house team of experts in Voice Biometrics technologies, security related IT, products and marketing and sales, AGNITIO is poised to make an impact in commercial as well as government sector. AGNITIO's team collaborates with universities, research institutes and business partners from all over the world to come up with innovations in voice identification technology.

Emilio Martínez - Chief Executive Officer

Emilio Martínez founded AGNITIO in 2004 with four partners and is currently CEO and Chairman of the board. From year 2000 to 2004, Emilio was part of held executive positions in several technology start-ups, such as Viaplus-Tech, a technology Web Portal, and AIA, a company offering unique security solutions based on proprietary Artificial Intelligence algorithms. Emilio has a strong background of working with technology companies and has been a part of companies such as Lucent Technologies Microelectronics, where he worked from 1991 to 2000. During this period he lead engineering and research teams for several other organizations, such as the Interconnect Group in Bell Labs (Murray Hill, USA). Emilio Martínez holds a PhD in Physics from Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, where he was assistant professor (1978-1988).


Javier Castaño - COO

Javier Castaño is one of the founding partners of AGNITIO. He currently manages the Operations and R&D efforts in

Before AGNITIO Javier was head of engineer department at BP Solar plant in Tres Cantos, Madrid. Javier has extensive experience in working with technology and engineering products and companies. He worked with Lucent Technologies Microelectronics from 1986 to 2001. He also spent two years at Bell Labs R&D groups, both in the USA and Spain. During this tenure he managed the Test, Technology, and Yield Improvement department in the Tres Cantos plant. Javier Castaño has an excellent academic background and holds an MS in Electrical Engineering (Ingeniero Superior de Telecomunicación) from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and a PDG from IESE.


Luis Buera - Chief Technology Officer

Dr. Luis Buera, Chief Technology Officer for AGNITIO, leads the research and innovation group that collaborates with third party research entities and manages the growing AGNITIO patent portfolio. His research career began at Toshiba Europe Ltd. in Cambrige UK in 2008 spending over 10 yearswith speech technologies organizations prior to joining AGNITIO. Luis received his Bachelor’s and Ph.D. degrees in telecommunication engineering, from the Universidad de Zaragoza, Spain. He also holds a Master in Innovation and research management from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.

Christian has over 20 years’ experience across a number of international telecom and mobile companies including Ericsson, Tecnotree and Comverse as well as mobile application giants such as Ubisoft and Jamdat/Electronics Arts. Christian Moreno holds a M.Sc Electrical Engineering (Ingeniero Superior de Telecomunicaciones) from the Universidad Politecnica of Madrid as well as a Master in Telecommunications from FYCSA (ALCATEL). He also holds an executive MBA from the Instituto de Empresa in Madrid.


Antonio Moreno - Senior Vice President for Product Management

Antonio Moreno is Senior Vice President for Product Management at AGNITIO. Antonio has been working in AGNITIO from the inception of the company and he is responsible for the Strategy and Roadmap planning of the AGNITIO’s products portfolio. He is also leading

He is also leading the management and support of all technical customer related activities in the company. He has more than 10 years of experience driving and supporting real Voice Biometrics deployments with customers all over the world both in the Defense and the Commercial sector and he is a well-known expert on Forensic Speaker Recognition, having participated in many workshops and conferences all over the world. Prior to AGNITIO, Antonio worked in Telefónica I+D, the R&D division of Telefónica, the major telecommunications provider in Spain. He holds a MS in Electrical Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.


Niko Brummer - Chief Scientist

Niko Brummer is one of the world's most respected scientists in the field of Speaker recognition. Niko has participated in all NIST Speaker and Language Recognition Evaluations since 2000. His contributions on application-independent evaluation of systems have been adopted by NIST in Speaker and Language recognition evaluations since 2006. Before joining AGNITIO as Chief Scientist in 2008, Niko had been working with Spescom DataVoice for almost two decades. Since joining AGNITIO, Niko has been the principal force behind developing technology solutions for AGNITIO. His research interests include speaker and language recognition and the evaluation and improvement of pattern recognition and machine-learning technologies. He has co-chaired Odyssey 2008, the ISCA Speaker and Language Recognition Workshop. A renowned academician, Niko Brummer holds M. Eng., and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa.
