AGNITIO and Nok Nok Labs Partner to Bring the World’s First FIDO Ready™ Voice Biometrics Products to Market
BARCELONA & MADRID & PALO ALTO, Calif.—Mobile World Congress—February 26, 2015– AGNITIO, worldwide market leader in voice biometrics, and fellow FIDO Alliance founding member Nok Nok Labs (NNL), an innovator in modern authentication, have announced the immediate availability of FIDO Ready™ products with the Universal Authentication Framework (UAF) protocol. AGNITIO is the first and only voice biometrics company with a FIDO Ready UAF product.
The FIDO UAF specification is defined by the FIDO Alliance as delivering a “passwordless” experience, where a user is able to use a form of biometric authentication on their local device, like voice, fingerprint or facial recognition to securely log in and perform a transaction. Once a user is registered, they simply repeat the local authentication action whenever they need to authenticate to a specific service, without the need to enter a password. FIDO UAF also allows for multi-factor authentication, where multiple authentication methods, such as a voiceprint and finger swipe, are used together to increase security.
AGNITIO Voice ID and the NNL™ S3 Authentication Suite are ready today to be integrated into a mobile application to perform voiceprint-based strong authentication. This combination allows users of online, mobile, and point-of-sale applications to conveniently access sites and services, and perform transactions that are more secure, private, and easier-to-use than passwords.
“The next paradigm shift in user authentication needs to perfectly balance privacy with security and convenience, and there is no technology that addresses these requirements as effectively as Voice ID,” said Emilio Martinez, CEO of AGNITIO. “The theft of personal information is more prevalent today than ever before, and the only way to prevent it is to look beyond passwords, and move to truly multi-modal authentication protocols. Nok Nok's FIDO solutions allow us to simply and easily deliver FIDO-based solutions for our customers, bringing us closer to truly secure online transactions than ever before.”
“This partnership with AGNITIO is a major step on the path towards a more secure online environment that meets the needs of deploying organizations and users,” said Phillip Dunkelberger, CEO of Nok Nok Labs. “Now that the FIDO Alliance has released its final 1.0 specifications, we expect to see accelerated momentum. Offerings such as this voice biometric capability that combine ease of use and security will help to overcome the deficiencies of the insecure username/password scheme.”
“Since FIDO 1.0 standards were published at the end of 2014, FIDO Alliance members have been moving fast to make simpler, stronger authentication a reality for users and organizations worldwide,” said FIDO Alliance Executive Director Brett McDowell. “The partnership between AGNITIO and Nok Nok Labs showcases how FIDO standards enable different modalities for strong authentication to a world desperate to move beyond password security."
KIVOX Mobile 5.0 and the AGNITIO Voice ID Advantage
As the leading supplier of voice biometrics technology to government and law enforcement, and with a rapidly growing call center presence, AGNITIO technology is tried and tested by some of the most demanding organizations in the world.
KIVOX Mobile 5.0, the newest member of the KIVOX product family, provides a wide set of authentication options, including a new text independent mode where users can choose between a fixed or free phrase to authenticate, or achieve an even higher level of security, and convenience, by using free and natural speech to authenticate, in any language. With accuracy rates exceeding 99.9%, KIVOX Mobile 5.0 is embedded locally on devices for added security and privacy so authentication never requires a biometric voiceprint to be stored on a server or in the cloud. Moreover, the KIVOX SDK embeds patented anti-spoofing technology that prevents impostors from spoofing voice security systems through the use of recordings, adding another layer of security that is critical in typical biometric implementations.
AGNITIO is a worldwide market leader for voice biometrics solutions in government and commercial sectors. KIVOX is a voice biometrics product family targeted at the corporate sector. Financial services, telecommunications, utilities and other sectors are implementing new security solutions based on mobile and server-based voice biometrics. KIVOX is ideally positioned in this market, with underlying Voice ID technology developed in most demanding environments such as forensics and intelligence.
AGNITIO is the recipient of a number of awards, including the Red Herring 100 Global (2007), Speech Technology Market leader awards (2007, 2008, 2010 and 2012), Global Security Challenge (2009 and 2011) and four Envisioneering's Innovation and Design Awards (2014, 2015).
AGNITIO is a founding member of the FIDO Alliance (Fast IDentity Online), which is dedicated to delivering open standards for strong multi-factor authentication.
